Abnormal Speaks:The Other Avenue For Placements

with 3 comments

Another off the dome speech I guess. This one is good thou.

I was chatting with the homie Gilson early and I started realizing how much we as producers don’t wage success properly. I.E. the placement. Most of of look at pmp or istandard and probably say damn I want to be like those producers. And who wouldn’t. But it’s hella competition to get their cuz everyone thinks their beats are good enough for Jay-Z or Lil Wayne. But while you are trying to do that you have an unlimited amount of cats who you can get ya beats to. The Indie artists. I’m not talking about the non-exclusive beat buying niggas. I mean people like Reef The Lost Cauze, Blu or Elzhi. Cats who have a huge following and can help you get ya name out. In my personal experience I linked up with one cat and he gave me contacts to several others. I went from chasing a major placement and having no luck to now having 7. Thou you not gonna get 10 g’s from a indie placements you do get 2 things.1. A chance to get your discography up so cats will start to fuck with you.2.A quality product that you will be happy to say you produced. Look at cats like Exile or Oddisee who are eating good off the Indie scene. Even cats like Kryshis thou he is huge to some of us he is considered by most to be underground. It’s all about the body of work that you put out. I hope you all enjoyed this little article I made.

Abnormal Speaks:Fl Studio 9 Review

with 4 comments

This Was Written Stricly Off The Dome

As everyone knows who has read the post below this one, I’ve got Fl Studio 9. I’ve been reading the post on Futureproducers about people talkin about some I decided to do a review on. I’ll break down the pros, cons, and summarize and rate it out of 10.

Pros-This version of Fl Studio obviously has gotten a facelift. The interface in my opinion is better to look and easier on the eye. But I’m not a shiney item nigga thou, this new version comes with alot of improvements. As far as internal sounds Image-Line has step their game up. The feature a orchestral pack with Directwave files that to my surprise are good. Fl also improved the generators this time as well. With additions like Autogun Gross Beat and effects like the Stereo Shaper and Hardcore. You composition skills also get a boost with the new riff mode in the piano roll. Any Pop or Dirty South producer with love make arp melodies with these function. I bet Johnny Juliano using it right now. But the main thing that made me upgrade was the change of the interface. The new playlist works hand in hand with sequencing, givening me the feel of Cubase in the Fl world.  Little changes like the play button in the step sequencer are pluses as well.  It’s too much dopeness thats been put into this addition of Fl.

Cons- With this new version of Fl Studio I found nothing really wrong.  Theirs nothing I found to upset me with the last 4 hours I’ve spent with it.

Overall: Fl Studio 9 is a wonderful addition to my hard-drive.  It’s the same Fl Studio we all have either come to love or hate. Think of Fl Studio 8 as a pretty girl with body and Fl 9 is her two year later with some nice sized implants and she looks very nice. I have to give Fl Studio 9 the score of 9.5 out 10. Now as I work with it more this score may increase or decrease. Just my overall thoughts straight off the dome

Abnormal Speaks:The New Age Of Hip-Hop

As I sit here listening to Lupe watching my sister and her friend acted like dumb ass niggers I began to realize how diverse my generation has become with music. I listen to Hip-Hop and it’s many forms and see loves Gucci Mane and Hurricane Chris and claims she has better taste. But as I begin to get ready to go back to school I remember how Alternative Hip-Hop and Hip-Hop in general has been making a comeback to teens. My freshman year of high school no one but me and my friends knew who Common and Big L are. Then by more sophomore year people started bumping everything from The Cool Kids to Kid Cudi. It seems to me that 08 and 09 were the prepartion years of the resurfacing of hip-hop. I mean in 08 I aint no anybody that played real hip hop bu me and my crew. I’d walk thru the halls hearing Gucci Mane everywhere. Then when people ask me who I listen they always say I weird. But as I enter my junior year of high school it’s now cool to play XV and Mickey Factz. I like the change that I’m seeing within my age group but at what cost. Once B.E.T gets all of the XXL top ten on 106 the conformity will begin. I felt so good when I seen Cudi on MTV then when I walk in my living room seeing Cudi on B.E.T. on the same day pisses me off. I mean I want to see all the underground artist I love (pause) get bigger but I don’ want them to suck the labels dick to be known world wide. I mean look at Wale he did a fucking sound with Gucci Mane. I not joking when I say my heart drop. When a rapper poison the purity of Hip-Hop it makes me want to lynch them. Maybe that to graphic but that’s how much I love this shit. Like Common said ” She was thier for me and I was their for her…”. It’s like a love hate relationship all of us Hip-Hop lovers will have to get used to. Some of us have and some like me are still trying to learn how to deal with it. But that was my rant and I would love to hear what you think about what I had to say so please comment. These is just me typing out my thoughts as soon as they leave my mind straight raw and uncut. “It’s Abnormal”
